This year Baselworld extended it repertoire of debuting presentations to include Bernard Favre’s watch winding system Planet. Planet is Favre’s created watch winding system inspired by a marine chronometer he had been entrusted with, which lead to the invention of this amazing watch winding system and its prized introduction at Baselworld.

Bliss with Kiss by Reuge brews its debut as the world’s first silent coffee maker delivering seven grams of caffeinated or decaf bliss. Bliss with Kiss is the engineered brain child of Frédéric Dayer (Gotec) and Kurt Kupper (Reuge). The coffee maker also has a musical box that plays 36 distinct musical notes upon presenting your final brewed cup of coffee. Interested? Chopard Unveils its Revisited Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chrono Automatic Watch Collection at Baselworld 2014

Chopard unveiled its redesigned Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chrono automic watch collection for the first time at Baselworld. The revisited Monaco Historique collection drew the attention of classic car enthusiasts’ familiar with the collection’s vintage Formula 1 classic car inspired design.

Chopard reintroduced the redesigned Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chrono automatic collection presented in a sporty 44.5 mm bead-blasted titanium case. The silver dial has fine grooves and sports an outer scale displayed in vibrant yellow, a color that has long served as a visual warning for Grand Prix drivers emerging from the Monaco tunnel at speeds in excess of 250 km/h. The tachymeter bezel is polished steel with a black aluminum insert, silver transfer with yellow dots around the bezel perimeter (Chopard has yet to produce the collection with a ceramic bezel). The watch is adorned with a black calfskin strap detailed with yellow stitch channeling and a titanium folding clasp (an optional black and yellow NATO strap is also available).

Classic Racing Chronograph Automatic - Model 168569-3001

Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chrono automatic has been designed to technically perform much like the cars that race at Grand Prix de Monaco. It delivers a high standard of performance with a self-winding chronograph movement renowned for its endurance, which has been both tested and certified by COSC. It has a power reserve of 46 hours. The polished steel caseback is engraved with the Automobile Club de Monaco logo and its redesigned enhanced lugs ensure comfort. The titanium crown is duly screw-locked and protected by a bead-blasted shoulder guard.

Chopard introduced the first model of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chrono at Baselword, which Chopard declared, bears all the hallmarks of a true classic racing “thoroughbred”.

Baselworld 2014 Opens its Massive Halls to Worldwide Guests

Baselworld 2014, Basel, Switzerland, opened its massive halls March 27 filled with the world’s leading luxury watchmakers and jewelry designers, welcoming a host of journalists and visitors from around the world.

Baselworld ceremony was opened by Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer, Christoph Brutschin, Member of the Cantonal Council of Basel-Stadt, and distinguished representatives from the jewelry and watchmaking industry whom welcomed guests to an amazing site of constructed pavilions showcasing some of the most elaborate watches and jewelry designs to grace the halls of Baselworld.

Baselworld has become the world’s largest open forum where industry watchmakers and jewelry designers come to present their latest products and innovations anticipating worldwide market sales and lucrative profit margins. It is also where many independent watchmakers have launched their brand identity and where new hopefuls anticipate gaining recognition and interest in their unique watch creations for an opportunity to launch their brand identity and/or acquire financial backing to launch their brand.

Among the over 1400 exhibitors with pavilions or booths at Baselworld, the Hong Kong Pavilion, organized by HKTDC (Hong Kong Trade Development Council ), has the largest national pavilion at Baselword this year. HKTDC promotes goods and services worldwide having a global network of more than 40 offices, of which 13 are on mainland China. Despite news of declining sales for luxury goods in Asia, the demand for luxury watches increased by +5.7 percent according to a World Watch Report released March 26th.
