Portuguese Automatic 7 Day
The average watch gives you one way to track time: the standard 12 numerals for the hours and sometimes markers for the minutes. The IWC Portuguese Automatic 7 Day watch gives you not one way to track time, but four, and it does so with impeccable style.
The IWC Portuguese Automatic 7 Day watch has beautifully delicate gold numerals to mark each hour except for the 3 o’clock, the 6 o’clock, and the 9 o’clock hours. At the 3 marker, instead of a numeral there is a chronograph. This chronograph keeps track of how many days are left in the week. Each week you start at 7 days, and gradually count down to 1. Then you start again. This is a feature that is not included in practically any watches, and is so interesting to see.
At the 9 o’clock marker there is another chronograph, this one tracking the seconds of the minute. There are so many uses for tracking seconds that this chronograph is an excellent tool to add to the watch’s toolbox. Then, at the 6 o’clock marker, there is a small window that keeps track of the dates of the month. All together, this watch is four counters in one, and is absolutely gorgeous to boot. This is a fantastic timepiece.
