The Portuguese watch again combines the historic watch making standards of the International Watch Company with modern technology and style. The Portuguese got its start when two Portuguese traders came to the founder of IWC hoping for a watch that would incorporate the qualities of an on-ship chronometer. The watch company was up to the challenge and delivered this classic. The Portuguese watch initially relied on the design of the IWC's 74 Caliber pocket watch and now incorporates an even more advanced version - the caliber 98 set in a steel case, and featuring a seven day power reserve.
