Tissot watches now available on the iPhone

tissot iphoneIt is no secret that the iPhone’s application abilities make it a great tool for companies to reach new potential customers, and Tissot is happy to jump on the bandwagon.  Making good use of the iPhone’s app capabilities, Tissot recently released a T-Touch watch application for the iPhone.  With the app, users of Apple’s extremely popular phone gain access to some of the 15 functions found on the T-Touch Expert, a watch geared towards adventurous outdoorsmen like professional mountaineers, extreme skiers, and divers.

When the app is opened, a high-quality graphic image of the Tissot T-Touch watch appears.  All the touch areas found on the watch are active on the graphic representation, giving iPhone users a watch in their pocket.  The iPhone’s integrated GPS technology facilitates the altimeter and compass found on the watch, while the chronograph and alarm functions operate in the same manner they do on the watch.  Dummy values are inserted for the thermometer and barometer functions.

In addition to these functions, the app also provides important information on the Tissot watch.  This information is provided in order to guide potential buyers in their purchasing decision.  The app not only provides information on the T-Touch, but on a wide variety of brand news and information. Going even one step further, the app also incorporates a store locator to show users their closest dealer.

Tissot Silen-T touches new innovation

Tissot Silen-tTissot’s T-Touch line of watches demonstrate a remarkable level of innovation.  The technology behind these watches allows wearers to simply touch the crystal of the watch to activate a wide variety of functions.  The T-Navigator, for instance, lets wearers switch the active time to four alternative time zones (set by the wearer) by touching the crystal at the twelve o’clock position.  While the ability to bring touch multi-functionality to watches sets the T-Touch line apart from traditional watches, the Silen-T watch is the timepiece that marks the brilliance of Tissot’s touch technology.

The Silen-T does not offer multi-functions.  Instead, the Silen-T allows wears to not only read the time, but also set both the time and an alarm.  Tissot achieved this by making the watch’s touch crystal vibrate in response to tactile response.  The watch ushers forth a new era of timepieces for the visually impaired.  Instead of having to rely on disruptive “talking” watches or the people around them, people with poor eyesight can now check the time in a discrete manner.  The watch is also great for people who need a means of checking the time without being disruptive or conspicuous, such as business men during meetings.  The Silen-T is also a great looking watch. So good, in fact, that some will surely buy it even though they don’t need it for the touch screen.

Tissot watches won in holiday shopping contest

After five years of marriage, Denise French and her husband finally got their wedding rings they’ve been waiting for all along, plus some bonuses including the choicest of some Tissot watches. What’s better is that they didn’t have to pay a red cent for any of this stuff!

It all started when Denise entered into the Gross Diamon Co. holiday shopping contest on her husband Johnny’s advice. He had seen it in the December issue of Scene and thought that it couldn’t hurt for his wife to enter.

And sure enough, Denise was called sometime later to inform her that she was chosen as the winner of the $5000 giveaway. To be spent at the Gross Diamon Co.

The couple was clearly excited and went early to their appointment at the store to choose their wedding bands and for Denise to choose her engagement ring.

When they finished with the rings they still had a considerable sum left for spending and so after looking and comparing all the different watches, they finally bought Johnny a gorgeous slim, two-tone Tissot watch.

Some other gifts were also purchased and the happy couple left the store happy and content that their Valentine’s day had been full of presents even though it didn’t cost them anything!

Tissot announces “display design contest”

Tissot watches brand has launched a competition calling on young, talented students to design potential window displays for the brand. The company says that the contest is directed primarily at architecture and design students who would otherwise have had very little experience with working in the watch industry.

According to the company’s website, the competition will officially commence on the 15th of February. The website also elaborates on the primary goal of the contest it to challenge gifted students into using their creativity and to hopefully produce some “clever, bright and perhaps unexpected ideas”.

The displaying of watches is an art unto itself, says the company. The watch you try to sell is obviously the main part, but the way in which a company puts itself out there will undoubtedly affect the public attraction to its specific selection, particularly when one considers the extremely competitive arena of the watch industry.

The Tissot watch company has a long and distinguished history beginning from its inception in 1853, in the Swiss watch making town of Le Locle in the Jura mountains. It is currently a member of the Swatch group, the world’s largest watch producer and distributor and has a presence in over 150 countries.

Tissot T-Touch Expert

Just one look at the Tissot T-Touch Expert and your heart may skip a beat, but it is even more fascinating once you put it on. This lightweight watch almost has a hollow feeling, even though it looks very solid. That’s because it is made from titanium, of the strongest yet lightest metals on earth.

Trying it on made me wonder why more watchmakers don’t use titanium in their cases and bracelets… it seems like the perfect metal for making an otherwise cumbersome piece of jewelry seem weightless. But before I get too carried away with the feel of this watch, let’s talk about the coolest part of all – the touch screen.

Tissot makes the “Expert” seem like it would fit right in with Apple’s iPhone and iTouch. By incorporating a large LCD screen that encompasses the bottom third of the dial, the wearer is able to view data while still viewing the hands of the watch. Before long, you will become an “expert” at using the chronograph-style buttons on the side of the case to manipulate all the functions of this amazing watch. The center button is used to activate the “touch mode” or the backlight.

What kind of information can you get from your T-Touch Expert? Well, let’s just say you will stay one step ahead of the weatherman. Tissot includes a barometer, temperature gauge in Fahrenheit and Celsius, and even a “meteo” mode for tracking the rise and fall of atmospheric pressure. Who knows, wearing a T-Touch might even turn you into a storm tracker!

Tissot Watches Celebrates in Vegas

Tissot, who is the official timekeeper and watch for NASCAR, participated in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion’s Week this past week in Las Vegas.Tissot-TTouch-Expert

Tissot watches were everywhere; the Pit Crew Team received a check for $100,000.00 and specially engraved Tissot T-Touch Expert watches. The next day, part of the weekend-long celebration, the top twelve drivers raced their cars down Las Vegas Boulevard with their new special edition Tissot Le Locle Power Reserve watches on.

However, the drivers were not the only ones to be lucky enough to get a Tissot watch; fans too were rewarded. All along the “strip” that weekend were Tissot Touch Pit Road Girls handing out T-Touch wrist bands with a chance to win watches. “Printed on each wristband were the four Tissot retailers each participating in the give-away. Located inside each retailer was a locked safe containing a Tissot Special Edition NASCAR watch. Fans wearing the wristband were given the chance to unlock the safe and win.” The give-away gave fans a chance to win a total of eight Tissot watches, each worth $525 dollars.

Tissot watches, due to their sporty nature, durable build and precise timekeeping are often used in events like race car driving and motorcycle races.

Tissot has always been on the forefront of watchmaking and technology. They were the first company to implement a tactile touch technology, known as the T-Touch. These Tissot watches have touch-sensitive sapphire glasses and are technologically advanced with barometers and compasses.

Angelina Jolie for Tissot Watches

We don’t need to hear much more than the words “Angelina Jolie” to grab our attention and make us want to click.

We also all know that the movie “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” is where the two hotties: Angelina and Brad Pitt met, fell in love and oh, so many kids later, are living happily ever after.Angelina Jolie and Tissot watches

On a lesser known note is the fact that Tissot watches struck gold when one of their watches was featured on her wrist in this movie. What better marketing can you ask for? It was a popular T Touch watch featuring the exclusive to Tissot, T Touch technology.

Although Angelina is not an official Ambassador for Tissot watches, the company does have some other beautiful faces representing its women’s watches. Professional race car driver Danica Patrick is a Tissot Ambassador and even has a limited collection of T Touch watches named after her called the T-RACE DANICA PATRICK 2009.

According to the Tissot website, “for her personal timekeeping Danica favors larger, highly robust watches. In particular she is a great fan of the unique tactile technology in the Tissot T-Touch Collection.”

Deepika Padukone is an actress and model and the first Indian to become a face of Tissot. As many watch brands look to India to open stores and increase revenues, having someone like Deepika has become extremely valuable. Deepika favors one of Tissot’s less sporty looking and more luxury oriented watches called the GENEROSI-T, an all stainless steel watch with diamonds on the dial.

Tissot’s motto of “innovators by tradition” reflects the fact that they are always on the cutting edge of technology and watchmaking. During its history since 1853 Tissot has produced watches made out of pure plastic, wood, rock and mother-of-pearl and continues to come out with new and exciting timepieces for men and women.

The T-Touch Expert Gets Put to the Test

The T-Touch Expert watch by Tissot has been put to the test when it comes to racing events of all types: Nascar, MotoGP and IndyCar, but what about surfing? Surf’s up dude. A surfer in New Zealand decided to see what happened when he wore his watch while surfing through big waves, getting dunked, plunging face first into the sand and more fun stuff.

The result? “It passed with flying colors.” One wave sent the surfer flying and crashing down so hard that he broke his toe and scraped some skin, but the watch was unharmed.ttouch

The surfer also wore the T-Touch Expert when on a mountain bike ride and when he bit it, he noticed that even though the watch made an actual dent in the ground, the watch case and functions went unscathed. Talk about one tough watch. An especially cool feature about the T-Touch Expert is its barometer; for example, its ability to detect a change in temperature gives you enough time to get home before the rains come down.

Tissot was the first company to implement a tactile touch technology, simply known as the T-Touch. These Tissot watches have touch-sensitive sapphire glasses and are technologically advanced with barometers and compasses.

The T-Touch Expert is the fourth model in the T-Touch collection; it follows the original T-Touch, T-Touch Navigator, and T-Touch Trekking. The T-Touch Expert can do so many things that most people who wear it, mostly men who are hardcore, extreme sports fans, don’t even know how to work all its functions.

For many years Tissot’s production was 85% masculine and 15% feminine. In 1998, the T-Collection for women was launched and has enjoyed much success. The T-Race series, the T-Trend, the Classic PR 50, the T-Round, and the new PRC 100 Dainca Patrick Limited Edition lines are popular among women that appreciate precision, sporty appeal and robust style.

Speaking of Danica Patrick, not only does she kick butt on the race track, she’s also a Tissot Ambassador and is proving to be pretty tech savvy herself; she’s taken to using Twitter to further endorse Tissot watches.

What kind of athlete are you? Cruise around our collection of T-Touch watches and find the watch that best suits you.

Tissot: Covering All Bases

Tissot is all over the place. From Nascar races to Bollywood, they are covering all their bases, making sure people across the globe know about their watches. Calling themselves, “innovators by tradition”, Tissot is always on point.

Chances are you’ve never heard of model turned Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, nor do you have any idea how to pronounce her name, but once you see her, you won’t forget her. She’s gorgeous and is the first Indian to become a “Face of Tissot” and boy, what a face.   As an Ambassador for Tissot Watches, Deepika recently attended the opening of a new boutique in New Delhi, helping launch the Tissot Sea-Touch Brand. Like the T-Touch collection that catapulted Tissot into fame, the Sea-Touch is a diver’s watch that features stylish looks as well as all the necessary functions sea touchneeded for diving.

During the launch with Deepika, Ulrich Fischer, The VP of Sales at Tissot, explained that India is a hot market for Tissot watches, and that despite the current economic situation, he expects 30% – 40% growth for the company. Aside from their cool, sporty looks, another good thing about Tissot watches is that, whether you’re talking dollars or rupees, Tissot watches are very affordable, especially at these discount and special sale prices found here.

From Bollywood to Nascar

In addition to Bollywood, Tissot continues to make a name for itself in the world of Nascar. Known for their precision timekeeping, digital display, ability to display the ambient temperature and other T-Touch features, it makes sense that race car drivers prefer Tissot. Danica Patrick, the first woman to win an Indy car race, is also a Tissot Ambassador. Like Deepika, Danica sure is easy to look at … and looks just as good posing on the hood of a car (did you catch her SI Swimsuit shoot) as she does behind the wheel.  In honor of her accomplishments, Tissot created the Danica Patrick T-Touch.

Leading the men, Tony Stewart’s Nascar race team celebrated the 4th of July with a big bang, when they picked up Tissot watches as part of their Tissot Pit Road Precision Award. There is even a watch called the T-Touch Nascar!
