Schwarzenegger Shopping for Luxury Watches
It’s a well-known fact that actor turned politician CA Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is a fan of luxury watches.
During his “Terminator” days he was filmed wearing four Audemars Piguet men’s watches; Royal Oak Offshore chronographs that were created especially for the Terminator film series.
When Audemars Piguet opened its flagship boutique in New York during the summer of 2003, Schwarzenegger attended and signed the watches which were auctioned off for charity.
In support of the After-School All-Stars Foundation founded by Schwarzenegger, Audemars Piguet created the Royal Oak Offshore Arnold’s All-Stars Chronograph that was produced in a limited series of 350 pieces.
Another famous actor, who is also a big time fan of luxury men’s watches, is Sylvester Stallone. Stallone is actually credited with bringing what is now one of the best known and most coveted luxury watch brands to the attention of U.S. consumers. On a trip to Rome in 1995, Stallone wandered into a Panerai store and immediately fell for the super sized, classic Panerai watches. He bought a bunch, specifically the Panerai Luminor (as pictured here), and gave one to his friend, Schwarzenegger. Thankful to Stallone for the star power that he garnered for these men’s watches, Panerai made a special edition series just for him called the Slytech which he would wear during the shooting of his film “Daylight.”
Recently in Italy, the CA Governor was seen shopping in a Franck Muller store. Although it’s not known whether or not he bought a watch, he spent ample time in the boutique and was shown a couple of pieces. It has been reported that Arnold has recently purchased a super sized 60mm wide watch; the manufacturer is unknown. Who could it be? Even Panerai watches are not this big and they, at 44mm, are considered some of the largest.
