Omega Watches Signs New Ambassador
Italian swimmer Massimiliano Rosolino has joined the Omega team, becoming its newest brand spokesman. Rosolino joins fellow swimmer Michael Phleps, as well as other celebrity Ambassadors such as Nicole Kidman, Cindy Crawford, George Clooney and Michael Schumacher.
At only 30 years of age, Rosolino is already the most successful athlete in Italian swimming history. With his Olympic championships and shelves loaded with medals, Omega signed Rosolino at the perfect time, since he will undoubtedly be one of the main stars at the next World Championships in Rome 2009. Omega will be the official timekeeper of these games.
“Collaborating with Omega,” remarks Massimiliano, “is a matter of great pride as well as great interest to me, because I will have the opportunity to train using techniques that are at the forefront of timekeeping. Omega Watch has made sports history and is universally recognized for the quality of its technical instruments and watches, which adds another level of incentive to arrive punctually … in the most important races or at press events. In addition, being the sole Italian athlete in an international team that includes celebrities of the caliber of Phelps inspires me to do all I can to be a good host in a few months in Rome.”
Rosolino, who hails from Naples always wears the Omega Seamaster that has his name inscribed on the back and which was given to him as a gift after his 2000 victory in Sydney. Rosolino has said that he loves Omega watches because “they express the good taste of those who wear them.”
