A new Glam Rock watch for 2012

Written by: Vanessa Formato

Glam Rock has been hard at work for the past two months unveiling bits and piece of their new 2012 collections, and the Internet and live events have played a significant role in the brand’s mission to create hype and appeal to younger watch-lovers. It may be safe to say that these efforts have been a success.

In December 2011, the brand hosted a huge unveiling event at an exceedingly exclusive members-only club, SoHo House, in New York City. The preview included sneak peaks at the 2012 collection, which features rare skins and unusual, vibrant colors. The unique styling of Glam Rock watches is enhanced by their “Just Click” technology, which allows almost every single aspect of each watch to be interchanged. The interchangeability is not limited to bands: wearers can even switch out bezels, which makes the watches astoundingly versatile. Users will delight in switching out and combining new parts to create a watch that is all their own.

The bright colors and emphasis and individuality are sure to appeal to a younger demographic, as are the company’s marketing techniques. While a surprising number of popular brands are yet to add links in their websites to Twitter and Facebook, Glam Rock has parlayed their tech-savvy into a relatively small but fiercely loyal following. Look up the company on Twitter, and a large amount of testimonials have come about organically from giddy buyers directing their praise at the company. Glam Rock keeps their Facebook updated and their website modern, showing that they truly care about their image– as one might argue that any purveyor of accessories should. Instead of talking about being young and hip, Glam Rock is showing that they truly know how to reach their audience, a new generation of potential watch enthusiasts who just need to be shown the beauty of timepieces.

Glam Rock recently began teasing fans about their new collections on Twitter as well. “Check out our new profile pic for a sneak peak at our new SOBE 2012 collection,” wrote a representative that updates the company’s Twitter feed. “We will be sharing the collection with you soon.” Glam Rock values connectivity with its fans online, so one can be sure that the brand will make good on the promise. If the praise they receive from their fans online is any indicator, the new additions will be given an extremely warm welcome.
