This weekend one of the most iconic horse races took place: The Kentucky Derby, now in its 139th year. Horses from across the country competed, and in the lead was Orb. Orb and his team took home first place and a special gift from Longines.
Longines, the Official Watch and Timekeeper of the Kentucky Derby, recently expanded their partnership with the Churchill Downs racetrack. Because of this, the Kentucky Oaks has been renamed the Longines Kentucky Oaks, and timepieces and luxury branded clocks have been placed on display throughout the facility.
Longines awarded Orb’s team with timepieces from their Saint-Imier collection during the Winners’ Circle Party.
Stefanie Graf, tennis legend and longtime Longines ambassador, teamed up with Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice President and Head of International Marketing for Longines, and Jennifer Judkins, U.S. Brand President for Longines to award Orb’s team with their timepieces. Among the winners were owners Ogden Mills Phipps and Stuart Janney III, trainer Shug McGaughey, and jockey Joel Rosario. Orb took first place in 2 minutes and 2.89 seconds, coming home before Golden Soul in second and Revolutionary in third.
